Dr. Bach earned his PhD at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology in 2015. He worked in Taiwan and Korea before joining the Hawai‘i Natural Energy Institute (HNEI) in March 2019.

His research focuses on both experimental and modelling studies on thermochemical conversions of biomass for energy and fuel applications. At HNEI, he is working on the Sustainable Aviation Fuel Production project funded by Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Aviation Sustainability Center (ASCENT).
